"Exciting News.... The South Fish Creek Recreation Association Farmers' Market has received official Sunnygirl Approval from Alberta Agriculture! We are now an approved market and very much look forward to the exciting changes ahead. The approval allows us to open up our market to even more vendors whom we would've turned away due to certain restrictions on food preparation! If you are interested in registering for the market please contact our office.  Otherwise, come out every Friday to support the market from June 8 to September 21, 2012 from 1:00pm-5:00pm. We will be there rain or shine!!"

Ukrainian Fine Foods: Helen Moore (Full Season) 

Help us to welcome back Helen Moore of Ukrainian Fine Foods. Helen will be returning for her 8th season and brings with her a wonderful selection of delicious Ukrainian foods. Perogies, Kielbassa, Cabbage rolls, Periske, and so much more. We look forward to having Helen here for the entire season!

Scentsy: Sandy Mort (Returning for the 2012 market!)

Scentsy is a new company here in Calgary and is a home based business which sells electric wax warmers, scented wax chips, car fresheners, etc. Sandy will be on hand for our entire season! Coco Brooks: Travis McLellan (Full Season!)

As some of you may already know, we have had Coco Brooks as a vendor at our Market before. We would like to welcome Travis McLellan and his wife, Emma Deazeley, of Coco Brooks back to our market. Coco Brooks offers a variety of frozen pizzas, pastas, calzones, desserts and cookies. Help us wecome them back to the SFCRA Farmer's Market for the entire season!

Roger's Farms (Full Season) 

Not only are we at Roger's Farms growing some of our own veggies in AB this year, we are now a certified organic grower! We have acquired a 2.5 acre certified organic garden by Leslieville, west of Sylvan Lake. We are growing our own organic carrots, beets, potatoes, garlic, onions and sweat peas for sale at the farmers markets that we service in Southern Alberta.

This has been in response to farmers markets preferring to have AB growers rather than commercial (resellers & BC/Intl produce) and also customers frequently asking if we grow the produce that we sell if it is organic. It makes it easier for market managers to meet the 80/20 regulation and improves the quality of produce, our image and the experience the customer has at the farmers' market.

Each year we have been increasing our variety and quantity of local AB produce that we sell. We have also been increasing our network of local famers that we work in cooperation with, bringing their local produce to markets that they are not at, helping them to move produce during peak harvest time, reducing spoilage and increasing income for small local farmers.  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Hillview Colony - Joshua and Frank Hofer (Full Season!)

We'd like to extend a warm welcome to Hillview Colony for the entire season of the SFCRA 2011 Farmer's Market! We are very excited to be expanding our market and having another full-season colony will be a huge benefit to the community. We look forward to everyone coming out to see the variety of vegetables, pies, cookies, honey and crafts that the Hofers have to offer.

Tupperware - Debbie Schade (Full Season!)

Please welcome Debbie Schade with her assortment of Tupperware for sale on site or place and order if there is an item you may have seen in the catalogue that she does not have on hand. Debbie joined the SFCRA Farmers' Market this year for the full season and we are excited to see that we have a Tupperware vendor on site again this year!

Prairie Farms - Zeerys Nunez and Javier Santos (Entire Season)

Please welcome Prairie Farms back for their second season with their wide selection of fresh produce from Alberta, BC and imported as well. Fresh fruits, vegetables and dill once it is in season.

Verdant Valley Colony (starting in July)

Please join SFCRA in welcoming back the gentlemen from Verdant Valley Colony! This is their second season with us and you will see them here at the market beginning in June. We are excited to have them join our ever-growing market.

Excellent Extras - Joyce Wright, Angela Umberiche & Torsten Kruse

A big welcome goes out to the crew of Excellent Extras who will be on hand with their maple syrup and home-made items using maple syrup. They will be a welcome addition to this year's market.

Tydes Designs - Tobi Shelefontiuk  (Full Season)

Please welcome Tobi Shelefontiuk of Tydes Designs to our market this season with her wide variety of silk floral arrangements and hand made jewelery in various designs and materials. We are excited to have Tydes Designs join us for the entire season!

Spirit Pet Essentials- Denise Fernandes

We are pleased to announce the addition of Spirit Pet Essentials to our market for the whole season this year! Denise makes a variety of different dogs treats such as bison sausage and mini bites, bison jerky, bison and elk bones for chews, elk velvet antler powder to treat ailments and the Paws Crusier which is a dog hammock for in the car!! Stop by and let Denise introduce herself and her products for your canine friend!

We are pleased to welcome the TutorDoctor to our market for the month of June! This booth will have a few thening going on so stop by for the 4 weeks in June and you will be able to get some information about tutoring for your children! As well, you can stop by and get a balloon for the kids and check out their assortment of hand-made jewelry which will be for sale at their booth! Welcome Allan and Ollie!!

A very warm welcome to Dylan Jones of Dor-Bel Fine Foods! This will be his first season at the SFCRA Farmers' Market. For the past 15 years, Dor - Bel International Fine Foods has been delivering specialty gourmet flash frozen foods directly to Calgary residents homes. Within the last 5 years, Dor - Bel International Fine Foods has expanded to include Farmers' Markets, both indoor and outdoor. Come on down to the SFCRA Market and check out their wide selection of fish and seafood available for purchase!

Lyndsy's Yard Art

Come out and meet Lyndsy Drossos of Lyndsy's Yard Art with her wide selection of refurbished, decorated and transformed yard art from birdbaths to stepping stones for the garden....to chandeliers! Yes Chandeliers!

Chandaliers that have been transformed to use candles instead of lightbulbs. Lyndsy hand crafts all of her work at home and would love to share her talent with everyone at our market. She will join us for 8 dates out of our season!

Come on out and check out his dazzling selection of hand-decorated and hand-crafted kitchenware items that he works at creating in his home near Vulcan.
